Stressed Out and Need Ideas? This DIY Solution May Help!

Stress is a very common feeling that many people experience throughout their lives. Whether it's from work, home, holidays, or just feelings of overall inadequacy, we are constantly searching for ways to relive this stress. Although there are many different ways we can help ourselves to relieve stress, sometime we forget that the simplest things can help just as much as those that take a little bit more work. I'm going to share with you an easy DIY solution to make at home that can naturally relive some stress symptoms.

Aromatherapy has recently been discovered as a very good alternative to medicine to help promote relaxation. The study worked to understand how aromatherapy affected blood pressure and the stress of subjects with "essential hypertension". One group experienced the aromatherapy by inhaling a blend of lavender, ylang ylang, and bergamot for four weeks. The subjects' process of evaluation included blood pressure checks and pulse readings twice a week. At the end of the study it was shown that the group using the essential oils showed significant differences in blood pressure, pulse, stress, anxiety and serum cortisol levels.

How to make solution:

  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops bergamot essential oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 10 drops Myrrh essential oil

Mixing 10-15 drops with 1 cup Epsom salt

Using a dark colored bottle, add the essential oils all together. Lavender is known for alleviating anxiety, provide restful sleep and reduce symptoms of depression. Bergamot oil has the ability to help with insomnia while also reducing frustration. Frankincense holds true to its stress-relieving effects as well as adding a deeper sense of calmness by quieting the mind and offering spiritual grounding. Myrrh also promotes relaxation and is often used for aromatherapy massage.
